Trying to find an Arabic Oud with a more sustained and haunting sound. A strong bass, but still clear and ambient highs. I have a budget around $1.3k and lower. I’ve been mainly on SultanInstruments and Sala Muzik. I’ve looked at the Anka (cedar face, walnut bowl), and the premium Arabic oud Y17 with a pamela bowl from Sala Muzik. I like slightly ornate sound holes, but after a certain point sound quality matters much more than some decorations.
