What’s everyone using for lists?
I’m trying to get my family comfortable with cutting Netflix and using Stremio instead, but the biggest hurdle is the browsing experience.
For me, Stremio works fine because I usually know what I want to watch. But for the rest of the family, Netflix’s “just scroll and see what’s new/popular” experience is a big part of the convenience. They don’t want to think about add-ons, lists, catalogs, Trakt, MDBList, etc. They just want to open something and browse. And yes, I know there are already lists out there that do this. That’s actually why I’m asking.
I’ve tried using a few MDBList lists like Gary and Snoak, along with Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and other streaming-style lists to recreate the layout of those apps. It helps, but it still doesn’t quite recreate the same feel. Some lists are too broad, some feel repetitive, some are stale, and some just don’t hit the same “easy browsing” experience that Netflix has for non-technical users.
I’m not really asking whether Stremio *can* show trending, popular, Netflix, Prime, or Disney-style lists. I know it can. I’m more asking what setups people are actually using day-to-day that feel good for a family living room setup. What lists, catalogs, Trakt setups, MDBLists, or add-ons have helped make Stremio feel more family-friendly and easier to browse?
Curious what everyone else has settled on, especially people who have set it up for spouses, kids, parents, or other non-technical family members
