Should I see an optometrist?
I've been dealing with constant headaches since last August. Seen several doctors including a neurologist and haven't gotten much help. I've had a CT scan of head and an MRI of my neck last fall. Scans were normal, no signs of tumors or infection, no lesions, so it's not MS. Spine is fine, slight protrusion on one of my discs, but nothing significant. The neurologist I always felt dismissed me and said they're just tension headaches.
After lots of research, I suspect it is IIH. The pressure in my head can move around, but usually I do feel it around my eyes. My vision hasn't really been affected yet. I have an appointment scheduled with a new neurologist, but the soonest was in September.
My question is should I see an optometrist to see if there's an swelling of the optic nerve? My biggest reason for hesitation is I don't have vision insurance since I've never had issues with my eyes prior to this.
