My kids want to stay home alone….
Some context….My 2 boys (ages 10 and 12) live with me. They go to their Mother’s every weekday while I am at work. I drop them off around 4 am and pick them up around 3:15 pm. They are homeschooled but choose to do their school work when they get home with me. I really do enjoy helping them with their school work.
They tell me they sleep most of the day to make it pass by faster to get home with me.
The past few months they keep asking if they can stay home during the day instead of going to their mother’s. I discussed this with her. She told me she doesn’t trust them to be home alone. And would only see them every other weekend. I disagreed with trusting them. I trust them and know they know what to do. They have showed me they know. I do run to the store and leave them home as my test runs. I bought a house in a great neighborhood, good neighbors, little to no crime, and have a 200 pound Mastiff.
Do I be honest with their mother about the reasons they want to stay home and not spend time with her?
