I feel like there is a odd lack of clones for this franchise. Especially the 3d games.
I have not found another post like this from recent time so I hope there is anything that might came up in recent years to fit the bill.

I really like the 3d games. Started with V and later VI which was stunning visually.
Sadly the 7th game was really bad and I think it made ubisoft switch back to 2d.

Anything that is similar to 5 or 6 that is worth checking?
The tile based strategy combat was really fun.
I looked at games like CIV but the overworld style combat is not something I found appealing.
