I've recently enrolled in a certificate diploma program at my local community college for Boardgame Rules Lawyering, and in our last class the prof's wife's boyfriend was guest lecturing and posed this challenge to us as an assignment. I need to write a 2,000 word essay to defend how I'd rule this move based on my knowledge of the game and pedantry.

Not looking for help on writing, just what your feeling is based on the sacred rules of Carcasonne.
