BMW E30 old factory radio wiring — plug & play adapter or hardwire needed?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to install a modern aftermarket head unit in my BMW E30, but I’m confused about the original wiring setup.

My car still has the factory radio wiring/connectors (photos attached), and the new head unit uses standard ISO connectors.

I’m not sure if:

there is a plug-and-play adapter for this exact old BMW setup,

or if I need to cut the factory wiring and rewire everything manually.

My E30 seems to have:

an old beige BMW connector,

separate small auxiliary connectors,

and the old antenna plug.

Some adapters I find online only have a single BMW 17-pin connector, which doesn’t look like mine.

Does anyone know:

what this original connector setup is called,

which adapter I actually need,

or whether this requires hardwiring?

Thanks a lot 🙏
