Best way to get a Premium Plus seat
I am looking for advice from all of you who know United better than most for how and when to get the best seat on a round trip from Denver to Rome in early Sept.
I am taking my girlfriend out to Italy so she can see it for the first time, and I want it to be a good trip for her. I would like to get us in to Premium Plus seating if at all possible.
What is the best way to do this? Is it to purchase a regular ticket and wait to upgrade later, or is it to just pay for the ticket now?
I am not looking to try to get an outrageous once in a lifetime deal, I understand that this costs money & or miles. But as a humble firefighter who only has an Explorer card with 100k worth of miles, I just want to make sure I don’t mess it up.
Ive tried the “Expert Mode” thing on United, but didn’t see any fare classes posted, nor do I really understand what it all means even if I did.
Any help from all of you would be greatly appreciated.
