I feel like I lost myself building an online identity, how do I get my life back?
I’m 24 and I feel like I’ve lost a part of myself over the last couple of years.
I got into debating and defending Christianity online (mainly through Yubo), and it eventually became a big part of my identity. I started a YouTube channel around Christian apologetics and philosophy, and I thought maybe I could turn it into income, so I devoted a lot of my time and energy into it.
The problem is I don’t feel happy anymore. I feel like I’m constantly in my head, arguing ideas, creating content, and being online, but I’m missing real life.
I miss training hard, looking good, feeling attractive, having confidence, meeting people, going out, dating, and having experiences. I want to get my body back, improve my appearance, post on social media again, become more attractive, and start getting women again
I don’t necessarily hate Christianity or philosophy, but I feel like I accidentally built my whole identity around defending it and neglected other parts of myself.
Has anyone else gone through something similar? Where you became obsessed with one goal or identity and realised you needed to rebuild your physical/social life?
How did you balance:
improving your body and confidence?
becoming more attractive and social?
dating and meeting women?
making money?
I’d really appreciate advice from people who have been through something similar.
