Danse Macabre by Hisko Hulsing looks suspicious. I believe gen ai was used as a post processing effect due to frame-by-frame oddities in anatomy and artificting I have not seen from any human or CGI post processing before.

Trailer DANSE MACABRE

Ok, so this is a trailer for an animated short film that is getting a lot of praise for being "hand crafted" and human made by media. There is a behind the scenes video where they go into painting the backgrounds in oil and rendering the scenes in 3D before adding a "painterly effect." However, I'm pretty convinced that the effect in question is an ai filter added on top of everything. If you go frame by frame you're going to notice a lot of weird shit. Which is why I'm confused as to why there is a Polygon article praising this thing for not using ai, when to me, it clearly has used it in the process. Am I crazy?
