Cone advice
My 9 month old kitten was spayed about two weeks ago, and she never wore a cone or anything because she wasn’t messing with her incision really at all. I took her to be seen a few days ago just to have them examine her incision. they said her muscle walls are all closed & that it looks okay. Now,twelve days in I’ve caught her fussing with it enough to where it’s left the incision puffy, red and irritated so I bought her a cone. Is it bad or potentially traumatizing to put her in a cone when she never had one from the start? She is so depressed and scared, all she’s done for the last hour is sit frozen with her head in the corner :(would you just take the cone off of her and monitor? or leave it on? I have contacted my veterinarian, but I have not heard back and want to make sure the cone is necessary.
