Working for WFH families
As someone who has worked for FOUR wfh families, I will NEVER do it again. Yeah I know, four is insane but I would say 2/4 were pretty good experiences.
My first family, liked them. The kids were fun but they would often bug their parents. The kids were snotty at first but I quickly ended that behavior.
My second family, ADORE THEM. I cannot speak more highly of them than I already do. They were the most easy going, out of the way family. 1/2 in office, 1/2 WFH. When I tell you I barely saw them, I mean it. And if we did cross paths, it was always them asking “do you need anything?” Then they went on their way. I love them so much, their kids are going to be in my wedding.
My third one, it was ehh. But it also was just overwhelming to constantly be around my bosses. DB didn’t even speak to me😂 like ever. Which I can’t say I didn’t like it that way. The kid would always wanted to be with mom, which made it very difficult and awkward.
My fourth one, ABSOLUTE nightmare. I am currently in this position so I won’t say much, but trusssst when I’m done, I’ll have tons to say. And I already have my end date but they keep asking me to stay. I will not be staying and I will NEVER work for a WFH family again. I never seen my boss when I first started and then out of nowhere, it became multiple times a day. Just talking to me for SO long, asking obvious questions, unsolicited advice about MY life (I don’t tell my business, it’s more about what they noticed, ex: telling me to keep up with car washes for MY car????), etc. To the point that I dread going to work everyday, because I want to be left alone. I can’t even eat my lunch in peace!
