Class like red mage from ff14

Specifically, I’m looking for a class that has a magic swordsman vibe with somewhat flashy graphics. Gameplay wise, I liked the core aspect of building two resources and spending them for a big burst. I also liked that the mobility and small sustain was able to keep me alive even with a bad healer.

Essentially, I’m looking for a class where my skills plying red mage and its aesthetics could be translated into the game.

One other aspect was that I really valued the ranged and melee versatility of red mage. However I am aware that most classes have both as viable options so this should be covered already.

Please feel free to give both core specs and elite specs as suggestions. Thank you.

Core ranger build

I am a new player and just picked up ranger. However I don’t have any dlcs and can’t find many updated builds on core ranger. So far I have only seen metabattle but I’m not sure if the build will work since I want to run greatsword with some kind of ranged weapon and a warhorn. Can someone recommend me a build for these weapons please. And ideally I would like the build and gear to be able to translate well into the elite specializations (looking at soulbeast rn) when I get the dlcs. Thank you.

Can someone please explain the difference between what these two programs teach and their respective career choices?

Specifically, if I would like to work in the R&D department of companies to create new materials or processes, which program would be better?

I’m also not sure if I will be able to be accept into these programs. I am currently in grade 11 in Quebec with a 92 average from last term. I will be going into a grade 12 program and can expect mid to low 90s.
My ecs are a bit lacking. I have attended two MUNs and two years of ethics bowl. I have done a regional science fair in grade 8 but didn’t win anything. I have worked very briefly in a flavours fragrances company mostly helping out with making simple solutions. I’m currently helping with my school’s lab making solutions and setting up labs. Other than that I play badminton and go kayaking once in a while but I’m not a part of any teams. I also really like to cook but I don’t think I can add that on as a ec.

Also the only information I can find on the material science program is the website on the faculty of arts and sciences. No other sources have mentioned it so I also want to just verify if that program even exists.

Thank you

Edit: Can someone also explain chemical physics please
