How are you hanging on?

To everybody who are still in relationship with their pwBPD or remembers how it was, what helps you going when you can't end the relationship but they are just audaciously mean to you? I feel like screaming and throwing a tantrum myself but I can't do it while I'm at work, do I just go home and pack my bags? I can't go on like this anymore. Is there any point of reasoning with them? All I ask for is a bit of love and some respect, and it's not that much.

I’ve noticed a recurring theme both in my personal experience and in BPD-specific spaces: this intense need to be the 'most intelligent person in the room.'

It’s in my top 3 most annoying traits. It feels like intelligence is used as a weapon to devalue everyone else, especially their FP. If you have a concern, you’re just 'not on their level.' If you disagree, you’re 'illogical.'

It’s so jarring to see someone who struggles with basic emotional regulation look down on everyone else as if they are intellectual giants. Imo this a common defense mechanism to avoid accountability and perpetuate their delusions.

How do you guys deal with the intellectual devaluation? Or just share your observations.
