Guitar Techniques Advice for Fingerpicking

How do you pick easily and fast without hitting another string accidentally? Also how do you get consistent sound so that it does not get stuck?

I know I have to use more wrist than arm and keep pick at an angle but for some reason I still feel that on electric guitar, the picking is still inconsistent.

Also when changing strings I know that it’s always up ajd down but are there cases where you use up to up or down to down when changing strings under certain circumstances or do you always alternate no matter what? I know my violin background wirh bowing uses slurs and up and down technique using more wrist for shorter strokes but I’m trying to apply similar technique to picking.

I feel like finger-style is easier for me since I can feel the strings better although it’s not easy and still needs work. But to play faster wirh pick I lose grip easily and don’t feel right.

I started learning for a couple of months but I do understand fingering on the fretboard well although another issue is that I find the pinky finger hard to work with since I need to stretch and feel weak pressing far with my pinky.

Please let me know what you advise.
