does anyone know of the legalities surrounding ulta about getting a second job? I got another job recently that pays very well and gives me way more consistent hours so i am having to prioritize that job instead of ulta. It has nothing to do with the beauty industry so thats all fine. I had to update my hours with my store and my GM didn’t approve it :/. I truly don’t know what to do. I want to keep my job at ulta for the time being bcz dual income but also for the discount. I don’t think they can fire me, I would have to quit on my own. But it’s like either they keep scheduling me when I can’t come in and I give my shifts away, or they do update my hours and it’s all hunky dorky. Any advice is appreciated 🫤.

okay guys i finally did it!! i sent an email to HR about the gratis box in the office along with some other concerns. It’s a prettyyyyy lengthy email with timestamps and everything. Now i’m just curious what the next steps forward from here are. How fast is ulta HR? do they email me back directly? Just curious because ya girl is a tad anxious!! Any info is helpful thanks!!

EDIT: i don’t keep my name anonymous. However i do have high hopes because our DM came into the store the other day and my GM got fired. A couple of employees complained about other things to them and they said they would be taking it seriously so, here’s to hoping! I wish i got a chance to talk to them as well but i wasn’t in that day. I really hope my email gets taken seriously and seen by the DM!!

hey yall, i had a general question about gratis rules. So at my location, gratis is given out based on performance. Get a card? get gratis. Meet a sales goal? get gratis. Do x y z? get gratis. We have a box of gratis the managers keep in the back that either you can choose one item from or the manager chooses one for you to give for doing a good job. I’ve been told by employees from other locations that’s not the norm and they should not be doing that. Gratis hand outs based on performance aren’t supposed to be a thing apparently? Just wondering if this was only my store or not 😓. My GM also got gratis from FLC and the other managers took whatever they wanted but the rest got put into the gratis box which also feels slimey. Like damn girl you got that for free why don’t we get to choose what we want too :/.
