Green dot removal?

Hey! I recently quit Ulta *round of applause* to switch to my actual career goals. One issue, I'm not sure how to remove the green dot on my tons of products from working. It stands out like a sore thumb and I'm obsessed with my makeup products looking "aesthetic" (hate that word). I haven't tested anything yet since I also don't want to damage the packaging.

I'm shocked I couldn't find a post about this so I suppose I'll make it so others can know!

Any tips or tricks for getting off the green dot? I get flashbacks just seeing the color 🥲

Discount

How do the discount work? Like if there’s a sale on perfume or so are we allowed to stack ? For example 20% off on all perfumes can we still use our discount? Or can we use the stuff like $5 off $40 purchase with our discount as well?

How Many Jobs Am I Supposed to Do for One BAD Paycheck?

As a PART TIME employee, we make barely above minimum wage but are expected to do a million different things at once. Hit sales goals. Push specific products. Memorize talking points. Do happy returns. Do color matches. Help customers with the app. Explain loyalty. Explain credit. Meet loyalty goals. Meet credit goals. Know every single little thing about the store. Know makeup. Know skincare. Know hair care. Keep everything stocked. Keep everything perfect. Be fast. Be friendly. Be knowledgeable. Do everything right.

And I’m SICK of compliments with nothing behind them. I’m tired of “great job!” and “we appreciate you!” when there’s no actual benefit attached to doing a good job. No better pay. No stable hours. No meaningful reward. These compliments feel TOTALLY empty when all they do is ask more from you!!!

I swear it’s always what you did wrong. You missed this goal. You could’ve said this differently. You should’ve pushed harder. More numbers, more goals, more pressure.
And when you don’t do well, you lose hours!!! Great so we get nothing for doing good but we lose a lot when doing “bad.” GREAT!!!

And then if the store doesn’t hit daily goals……Hours get cut

And THENNN we have to sit through their god awful training videos where they act like Ulta is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They say how we are valued and they care about us while at the same offering us inconsistent schedules and pay that is TERRIBLE.
(But I’m supposed to be happy about a 10ish cent yearly raise wow!!!!!!! So helpful 😃😃😃)

I have many MANY more things to complain about but I’ll end it here.

Anyways. I’m quitting ASAP. And I think everyone else should too! F U Ulta

Management

hello everyone,

I overhead my GM saying that she was going to start sending people home if they didn’t meet their conversion goals within an hour or two. is this within policy?? or any rules against it? sometimes people just want a $10 foundation and not a $60 one that won’t work.

Lazy GM

What does your store GM do to help out the different departments when necessary?

I’m asking because my GM is one of the laziest I have ever seen. She’s either standing up by POS, or sitting in her ass in the office “on a call”. Even when at the registers, she’s constantly on her phone. She takes more vacations than anyone I’ve seen, and all she does it bitch about the 4 other managers not handling our workload and then hers. She bitches when tasks aren’t done instead of jumping in to help. SFS? “Why aren’t they done??” IA?? “Why haven’t you competed them? They’re supposed to be done everyday” DIFs? “Why are we showing 4%?”

Maybe I’m overreacting but why do they get to make 6 figures a year, with 50 million paid vacations while doing absolutely nothing to make the store run properly?? TIA

Bad management at my store as a new hire?

Hey guys, I was recently hired at Ulta Beauty as a task associate. I went in for my interview two weeks ago, and they said they would send me the offer that night. This is where the trouble began. I didn’t get the offer, so I called them the next day and they postponed it to that Friday, and then that Monday, and then Tuesday. Same thing is happening with scheduling onboarding. They told me I would get a call to tell me what the date of my onboarding orientation is, and they NEVER call me on the day they say they will. I called yesterday to be like “so… did yall schedule on onboarding date today like I was told?” And she just answered “no, we didnt!” Like.. uhhhhh, so when are you going to??? It’s frustrating me so bad because I just want to START WORKING but they are postponing that because the essential tasks to get me started because it “slipped their minds.” What do yall think of this? Should I say something or just keep calling to check up?

Hot stores

I’m genuinely so tired of the store being so miserably hot. Especially as a tasker. Our managers say it’s up to corporate but even then we should NOT have to work in a store when it’s so hot and feels like the same temp outside

Operations Manager

Hi! I’m interested in the Operations Manager role and I had a few questions.

  1. What does the hourly pay look like? (I’m in Texas)

  2. Are 40 hours guaranteed as an OM and what do shifts look like?

  3. I don’t have much manager experience but I have experience doing operations tasks such as OMNI, truck unloading, planograms, replenishing, upselling and training other team members. Would I be fit for this role?

  4. Besides time management what are some challenges that an OM might face on a daily basis?

  5. What are some questions asked in an interview?

I would appreciate any answers and information that isn’t provided on the career site, thank you!

NOYZ Ella Langley

Omg the NOYZ launch of Be Her was insane. I literally went in ON MY DAY OFF right at open bc I was out and about and was gonna get sunscreen at another store and I saw that there was a BOGO deal so I was like hmm let's pay a visit. I pulled in the parking lot at 10:59 and there was a line at the door. I went inside at 11:02 and the fragrance was GONE. I wasn't looking to buy it, but I was so surprised that 15-20 bottles we had sold out in TWO MINUTES. also I am surprised because I might live under a rock but I have quite literally never heard of Ella Langley until this perfume and also the song that plays in Ulta?? Where did she come from and how does she have that much of an audience. Am I just oblivious?? Idk. Anyway her perfume does smell really good. I probably would've bought it if it was in stock but apparently we can't use our discount on it🤔🤔I don't appreciate that

Benefit Brow Bar interview

I have an interview for the Benefit Brow bar tomorrow. Originally, I applied for the Clinique beauty advisor position but this store really needs a brow expert. Does anyone have any experience working with Benefit? Would you recommend this job?

Dress code?

Is this in dress code? I know we can’t wear patterns but didn’t know if this was any different? Just wanted to know before I bought it!

How do you get better at tasking?

I started about 2 months ago and it's been a bit rocky. At first, I was learning the job and everything was fine. About a month ago, I noticed a change in the way my gm treats me. She tells me I'm slow and need to pick up the pace both with resets and truck. She also reduced my hours. I think she's trying to drive me to quit.

It's not just her comments. I notice that im slower than other people and I take longer than the truck estimates by a significant amount.

I'm not slacking off or chatting. I'm working the whole time. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I do plan to ask my om and mm for feedback.

So how can I get faster and improve overall? I would really appreciate any advice. I dont want to get fired. Thanks!

might apply to ulta but i have a few questions

i have to work part time due to school and i’m going to apply to be a task associate.

  • will i still get an employee discount as a part time employee (i ask bc certain jobs i’ve had would only give out benefits based on your weekly hours). also, what’s the discount ?
  • as a task associate, will i ever have to do credit card sales?
