Today was my last day

Was a manager. Worked there for 3 years, since before our store even opened. Worked almost every position (task, ba, pba, lc, ae, em) but just had enough and had to leave. Loved most of the people in my store but a mix of horrible customers and corporate bullshit made me quit with nothing else lined up. I put in a notice and everything but I definitely couldn’t spend another holiday season there. If anyone is thinking “is it just me?” Like I did, lemme tell u the main issues I had
- the horrible unpredictable schedule which made me feel like there was no room for work life balance
- the way employees (mostly part timers) are treated in general. Both by the company and my store specifically
- corporate bullshit like they extend the hours whenever they want to. When they extended to 9 every night and extended Sunday and Saturday is when I put in my official notice. What’s next, will holiday hours be 9-10? 8-11? 24 hours? (I’m kinda joking but you get the point lol)
- I think customers are genuinely getting meaner and stupider and as I age I am less and less patient.
- this is silly but I can’t do 24/7 Christmas music for 25 days straight. Not a 4th year in a row. I just can’t.

I feel so privileged and spoiled for having the savings to just leave, when literally no one else has that option. But honestly my mental and physical health are at an all time low and I just had to leave.

I guess I don’t have a question or need advice or anything (except maybe about getting a new job lol). Just wanted to rant. Feel free to leave a rant here too. If you have to stay this holiday season (and longer) but wish you didn’t have to, please take care of yourself. You are more important than Ulta.
