Today is literally my birthday and somehow work still managed to ruin my mood.

Apparently LinkedIn tells people when it’s your birthday. One of the higher-ups at my job sent me a simple “happy birthday” message.

I saw the Gmail notification and got curious because I almost never receive LinkedIn messages. For a second I genuinely thought I had done something wrong or there was some work issue.

I opened it, saw it was just a birthday message, and replied:
“Thank you, I really appreciate it.”

A few minutes later, after he saw my reply, he called my supervisor and complained about why I answered “so fast” during work hours. Basically implying I’m always on my phone instead of working.

Mind you… HE was the one who messaged me first.

My supervisor explained the situation but he still told her to warn me not to stay on my phone.

I honestly still can’t get over how ridiculous that is. Imagine messaging someone on their birthday and then getting annoyed because they politely replied.

I hope you rot in hell you annoying piece of trash.
