It’s obviously not that deep and maybe there’s other songs on the album that feature traditional instruments but Ancestors is one of my favorites off the album. Every time I realize there’s a piano in the background i get slightly irritated, like it would’ve been so easy for her to just chop a vocal into a piano-like sound 😭 I feel like having a traditional instrument on the sort of ‘heart’ of the album almost contradicts the whole point of the song. I wish she would’ve committed to it being 100% derived from vocals. Still love the album though
