So yes i made a new account just for this post.
I told my mom I want to this manual labor job, pays good (really good) maybe a slight bit dangerous. She is completely against it and wants me to go to university and get a high education job (engineer, doctor, stuff like that), because education gives you value, even if you don't make any money with the diploma, you must still be able to say I'm so-and-so, and I studied so-and-so. Now I know that it's encouraged in Islam to learn and be educated, but I don't think it tells you must have a formal education, I read a lot of books, and study them in my own free time, I'm quite the nerd actually, and I just don't care if someone thinks I'm educated formally or not. I just care about making money. And in this job, ill make more than an engineer in my 2nd year of working it, and if I become a journeyman, ill make almost as much a doctor. So should I listen to her, and study 4–6 years just to make subpar money, IF I even land a job?
Many of my uncles work this job, and they make 200k, some more, its really flexible, and you can work only half the year. I'm in Canada if that's important.
