So,

I’m from Sweden and yesterday I was in the standing section (on the floor) at THE GOAT’s concert at Avicii Arena. It was an amazing concert from the band and from Kevin himself – but it really hit me yesterday how the fanbase has changed a bit. Don’t get me wrong, there were definitely a lot of people singing along and actually into it. But at the same time, there were sooo many people who felt like they had that TikTok knowledge, like they only knew the viral songs rn (Dracula, LIH etc). And then there was people that just felt like they were there because it’s “Tame Impala”. Standing still, filming everything, posting on their stories with merchandise , almost like trying to look a certain way rather than actually enjoying the music. I experienced this in Coldplay’s concert two years ago, but I just didn’t expect that at a Tame Impala concert.

I’m not trying to sound like a pretentious fk* douchebag, but seriously… his last concert in Sweden was ten years ago. Don’t sideeye me because I’m screaming every song - as you SHOULD do in the standing section (or at least move to them). It just felt like a lot of the crowd was kinda generic ”social media” fans, and it actually annoyed me a bit - because I was singing and moving along by myself (which kinda ruins it) Like barely anyone around me was moving at all to Apocalypse Dreams, Elephant and even Breathe deeper except me and my friends, which is CRAZY.

Still an amazing concert overall, but parts of the crowd killed some of the vibe for me.

Did anyone else feel the same in ur concerts?
