I’m asking well ahead of when I assume this when any of this will matter, but I’d like to be working towards something. I’m on an NROTC scholarship and am beginning my first year of school this fall and am deciding what I want to do in the Navy once I commission. I’ve initially put down NFO as my main interest but am unsure about what the jobs and lifestyle are like. I’d like to work on larger planes (p8?) and be stationed on land but don’t know what any of that would look like.

If anyone could give me advice on different NFO pathways I’d appreciate it.

Additionally, what are the best ways for a civilians to learn more about this stuff so I can learn as much as possible asap?
