[upx] small silly question: are incoming freshies batch '26 or batch '30?

small silly question lang hehe. saw people fighting about it kasi. afaik the year kung kailan ggraduate ang isang batch, thats usually how their batch is referred to. idk how applicable it is tho here in up cuz so many peeps get delayed XD. or does it depend on the person itself kung kailan sila ggraduate (e.g. they were a freshie in '22 but they graduated in '29, so that person belongs to batch '29)?

UPCAT ‘26 Qualifier here: BS Statistics or BS Industrial Engineering?

Hi! I’m an UPCAT ‘26 qualifier. I was offered a slot in BS Statistics, and at the same time, I’m currently waitlisted for BS Industrial Engineering.

My goal is to build a career in the corporate field, then, maybe go into teaching sometime as a professor (I plan to pursue grad school right after college, if time and circumstances allow haha). When I was choosing degree programs last year for my UPCAT application, I did a lot of research and talked to people both online and in real life. That led me to have BS Industrial Engineering and BS Statistics as my top one and two choices, respectively. Which both align well with my strengths and interests.

Now that I’ve received my UPCAT results, most people around me are encouraging me to choose BS Statistics. Someone I know, a BS Stat graduate from PUP, told me that with strong credentials, the degree can open doors to almost any job. Here’s where the conflict comes in lol. While BS Stat was my second choice, I’ve already grown quite attached to BS Industrial Engineering. I’ve spent a lot of time looking into its opportunities, career paths, and even the overall experience in the program. I even follow content creators on TikTok who are currently taking BSIE in UPD or have already finished the program.

Despite that, I don’t want to let go of a potential degree program (BS Stat) that could lead to great opportunities just because I already feel some type of way about BSIE.

If I do get accepted into BSIE, which one should I choose? Which degree is the better option career-wise? Saan ba ako mas yayaman? 😆

I wanna decide and land on a program na as soon as possible. Pls help a conflicted Isko on his biggest life decision. Thank you in advance!
