We Need Roland TR-8s MKII !!!
ROLAND IF YOU SEE THIS, PLEEEEASE GIVE US TR-8S MKII! As a producer who owned the 8s for years and the 1000 for a few months, who's thinking about getting the 8s again...I LOVED the 8s, liked the 1000.
I went bizerk when the TR-1000 came out and coughed up the hefty price tag for a used one I snatched from Reverb at the time.....the device is sensational in theory and I feel it almost hit the mark....but fell a bit short. Clock jittering (even with layered gen mode workaround) bugs in the device (parameter locks randomly not working then working again as pattern plays through), and a few other loading problems, made the device kind of unusable for me. I grew depressed and disappointed about the 1000. I had always dreamed of the followup to the 8s, and there it was in front of me, the 1000 (although not marketed as such, more marketed as a new flagship unit).....But I find myself wanting to go back and buy an 8s again. But I'm hoping Roland either updates the 8s or gives us an MKII or maybe a purely digital version of the 1000 that's without the analog jitter or problems with clock and midi or bugs as digital clocking seems to be rock-solid comparatively speaking. An 8s with a screen like the 1000?? Here is to hoping!!! This from a sincere Roland supporter losing sleep with hopes and dreams of this....with love, thanks for reading if you did, Roland.
