This was mentioned before, but I wanted to illustrate the price difference from the app and the website.

Here is the differences in price here in Japan. When I converted dollars to yen it comes out much cheaper than the shown cost.

400 hours and 1,100 to go. I am doing like an hour a day.

Just reporting the number…do I feel super confident? Not really, but that is ok. I have been using Pimsleur lately, and I enjoy its simplicity.

Ironically, in the last month, I started feeling like…I enjoy Italian more. Maybe because it is so close to Spanish.

Anyhow I am going to celebrate with a coffee tomorrow.

One more day….

Just posting for the fun of it. I am doing one hour a day, because my Spanish is in maintenance mode. I have been focusing more on Spanish from Latin America recently.

Have been watching a lot of anime in Spanish especially from Mexico.

On the side, I do one hour of Japanese and French. My French is at 350 hours. My Japanese is at 300 hours, I stopped counting Japanese like a week ago.

Cijapanese.com had a major falling out in their company. Now I get my input from YouTube.

So I quit….Cijapanese.com

I am not done with learning Japanese, but I am done with this website. I will continue to support Yuki’s YouTube and Patreon.

So instead of paying ¥12 to some random person named Ben, I just continue on by myself for the moment.

Not that me quitting has any major impact, I just think cijapanese.com is no longer worth it for me personally. Besides I think I will be fine. Therefore, this might be my last update.

It was good while it lasted for 3 months…lol.

Comprehension: 70%

How many hours worth of videos are left: 137 hours

250 hours … progress report

Japanese update:

Hours: 251 hours

My difficulty level: Beginner 46

Hours per day: I average 3 to 4 hours per day.

Comprehension: 70%

Videos left until the next level: 98

How many hours worth of videos are left: 22:20 hours

Time frame: 2 weeks until the intermediate stage

Podcast: Nihongo con Teppei
Episode: 408

Next report: at 300 hours

I did want to say one thing…it has already been said a few times, but I also hope they shorten the gameplay videos. I watch a 2 hours one yesterday. It was ridiculous long. Of course, I am not going to re-watch it.

200 hours down….many more to go.

My difficulty level: Beginner 41

Hours per day: I average 2 to 3 hours per day.

Comprehension: 70% to % 80

Videos left until the next level: 210

Time frame: one month until the intermediate stage

How I go about learning: repeat and repeat again. I add videos that are at 50% comprehension to a playlist for later re-watching.

Background: I study Japanese in college. I didn’t learn much as you might think. I studied Genki 1 and 2. That’s all. That was 7 years ago.

My thoughts: As of now I just watch every single video and move forward. I do repeat videos if I feel I didn’t understand enough. I do expect intermediate to be much harder. We will see how it goes.

Podcast: Nihongo con Taipei
Episode: 151

I am not consuming anything else at the moment. No tv shows, no anime. Nothing.

My ability to talk:
I can talk. I can introduce myself.
I can have small conversations.

Reading ability: I can read hiragana and katana.

300 hours down…and many more to go

It’s is nice to get to the next level. I have been doing 1 hour a day.

I am going to be honest. I am behind the road map and that is fine. I seriously doubt I know 3,000 or even 1,500 words.

I am on the beginner level on DF. Super beginner is easy enough. Podcast hasn’t quite opened up yet, but I am moving along.

Anyhow that is for this progress report. Everyone good luck. Maybe I will treat myself to a coffee.

Mainly I just have been focusing on CIJapanese content. So I don’t count anything I hear or do outside of it. For example, watch some anime just now, I simply don’t add it.

My current level:

I am working through beginner. I am on level 36. I am half way through the beginner level. I have 338 videos left.

My comprehension:

As I move forward It is slowly getting harder. But I understand enough to keep moving forward. I understand 70% to 80% of what I am seeing. If there is a video that doesn’t click at all, I just add to watch later. After a few times watching it.

Hours per day:

Averagely I do 2 hours a day. Whenever I have more time, I will do an extra hour.

My background:

As I said in previous post, I took japanese in college for two years. They gave me the class textbook ( it was small), I world memories the words I didn’t know. The classes were very basic. Also I did Genki 1 and 2. This was 15 years ago.

Therefore, I am a beginner with this site, but not to Japanese. I know katakana and hiragana. And a little bit of kanji. I can introduce myself. And say simply stuff, such as…I like sushi 🍣 lol 😂

The goal is to have a real conversation one day.

I am on beginner level 30, so far no problems. If there is a video where I miss enough words, I will watch it again until it makes sense. And also save for later just in case for later review.

My comprehension is at 70 to 80% depending on the video. I have had no major problems yet.

I am doing around 2 hours a day. I have missed one day so far. I don’t watch outside content. Just podcasts sometimes, but I don’t count those hours at all.

By the DS road map I would be at 50 hours or less if you time it by 3. We will see how far I can make it by the end of this year. Hopefully more people will post. I would love to see where other people are at on their journeys.
