Weird question..
When you use a public restroom, and you have to change your tampon/pad, how are you using the metal disposal box?
I work as a janitor and we recently installed the metal disposal boxes in the restrooms. Today I was cleaning the restrooms, and opened the box to check if it needed a bag refill. Only to discover that the ladies are leaving the used products in the box.
Now, I wasn’t taught much of anything when it comes to periods or anything that it entails. I have always wrapped the tampon in toilet paper, dropped it in the bag inside the box, and then removed the bag, rolled it up, and thrown it in the large trash outside of the stall. (Where you throw out paper towels when you wash your hands.)
Every one of my friends that I have asked so far say that they also just drop the tampon in the box and leave it at that. Is my method odd? I always assumed it was universal, common practice when it comes to the box.
