It should be illegal to get your period while you're sick
It's already bad when my period triggers me chronic illness, it also decided to show up while I cough my throat out. I could barely wake up before having to change my sheets. Fuck this stupid body!
Help 😭
The anxiety is killing me. Today is Day 5 of my period, and I’m still bleeding—something like this has never happened to me in my 32 years. Plus, in my country, there are no facilities available to run diagnostic tests; I live in Cuba. Has anyone else experienced bleeding like this on the fifth day of their period? My mind just keeps jumping straight to cervical cancer.
im too in pain to come up with a title
is... it normal to be like, so in pain im in bed all the time the first few days even with medicine?? ive heard so much bad stuff about periods i dont even notice mine probably isnt normal, but yeah uhh i remember one point in time i had the worst cramps of my life while throwing up in the tub and bleeding with diarrhea ❤️ for the first day of 3 seperate periods in a row!
i really hate overexplaining my private life to strangers cause im a teenager and introvert but atp im so in pain rn that i dont even care, pls help lol
im ace and repulsed so i dont want kids, Christian so i dunno if itd be fine to alter my body (do people get that organ taken out?), and i absolutely do not want birth control just because ive heard some things and just, honestly id rather take the body altering route of the 2 because I AM AT WAR WITH MY PERIOD RIGHT NOW, theyre decently far apart but who cares, they hurt so bad and i can barely even do anything the first few days while im on it.
Menstrual Cup
I would like to share my FIRST TIME experience with a cup.
I'm 24 years old and yesterday was my first time using it. I was really excited to try it before since it would make my life easier and better for the next couple of days, I already tried tampons back then when I was in 10th Grade. Didn't last long though since it's more expensive than a pads.
Now, my cousin gifted me a cup. A very dark almost like violat pink cup with a round ring on the bottom. It says on the packaging that it is size Small, for 28 years old and below and without a child.
So yesterday, I tried the push-down fold since I think it will work better, and it did. Took me a couple of minutes to finally manage to put it inside BUT i thought the ring was supposed fo sit outside so i tried and walk and sit and i thought to myself "nah, this isn't how it's supposed to be". So I went back to the bathroom and sit down on the toilet and pushed it back more till it don't hang out anymore. But this is the tricky part, because as i push it more and make sure the cup is fully open, i realized that it's kinda tight down there huh. I did tried my best to relax, and i think i did good unlike the first time i wore a tampons.
I still wore a pads after so make sure there's no leakage but THERE IS so i brushed it off, thought to myself that it's a common beginner mistakes, that I'll get better over time. The leak didn't full my pad it's like a 4th day of period kinda type of leak.
Ff, 12 hrs went by, i felt like it was leaking again and i thought to myself that maybe it's already full, but still SHOULD IT LEAK OR NOT?
And the removal, i was squatting trying my best to relax and push down because the moment i reached down there i had a little panic, the opening is kinda covering or hugging the part of the ring so it made me somehow difficult to reached for it. Tried inserting i finger inside, trying to break the suction and as i do so i feel this warm liquid on my hands, tried pinching it with both thumb and index finger but didn't worked out. And i thought to myself "fuck it, let's try to pull" and it did came out with blood and MAN IT STICKS hahahahahahahahahha but it is what it is. Menstrual blood is sacred.
So, any tips and tricks or a little reassurance? Hahahahaahha

Ob/gyn or dermatologist?
So I have what I'm pretty sure is a cyst on the skin tone part of my private area. It's basically where the pubic hair is. Since it's so close to that area, if I was to get it checked out, should I go to a gynecologist or a dermatologist? It's not on the inside part whatsoever but I'm still quite confused on what to do. I'm not attatching a picture for obvious reasons, but I want to know if anyone went through this and what to do.
How do you use period underwear?
my younger sister got her first period 5 months ago, which is a long time ago, but I recently discovered that she’s been using her period underwear in what I think is a kind of awkward way. So, how are you supposed to wear them? With a pad? Free bleeding? With anything at all?? Please let me know!
Manage the pain for 2 weeks.
I booked myself a gp appointment, but it's on the 4th of June, I'm still in absolutely a lot of pain and nothing works at all, I explained this but they booked a telephone call, I don't know what to do in the meantime. I feel lightheaded, sick, no energy and intense pain in my area, I don't really know what else to do.
Normal or not?
Is it normal for my period to disappear for long periods of time or not and come back on a random day
Does your mental severely health plummet right before or during your period?
TW: mention of suicidal ideation and self harm
Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask this question, but I'd just like to see if it's only me or if it's because of my period. Like many of us, my emotions become a bit more unstable during this time. I'm someone who has been diagnosed with clinical depression for over a decade and have been dealing with anxiety for nearly as long.
I've noticed over the past few years, starting in maybe 2021, that my periods have made me feel near suicidal. My mental health plummets so severely and I have bad episodes more often on my period than I used to. I'm 31 and have no idea what exactly has changed. Fortunately this isn't every month, but maybe every 2 or 3 cycles I feel like I want to die in a way that's alarming.
To be clear, I'm not actively suicidal and I don't participate in self harm. I just want to know if anyone else experiences this and if so, is there anything you do to help it? I take birth control pills and have been since I was 14, and in the times I haven't taken them I felt like my cramps and emotions were worse. I've been back on them consistently for a few years now but every now and then I fall back into that ugly darkness and it freaks me out. I hate that a biological part of myself is making me feel so low and I'm hoping I'm not a freak of nature for feeling that way.
Any advice or perspectives from anyone who might go through the same thing would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Period after plan B
i took a plan b 6 days before my expected period, i think around day 24? the day of my expected period was yesterday (day 30) and i thought i started it however it was really dark brown and sometimes it was also bright red, this evening it is considerably lighter almost like i am coming to the end of it
is this my actual period or just withdrawal bleeding ?
Period underwear vs reusable pads? Recommendations for brands needed!
I have been an avid pad user for most of my time dealing with periods but it seems like I am starting to become extremely irritated by them more and more each period to the point where I think it might even be an allergy?
I have heard nothing but good things about menstrual cups and discs but if I can be real with y’all I don’t particularly enjoy having to put things inside myself and dig things out so I don’t really want to try those when there are so many other options available.
I need something good for heavy flow days that has as full of coverage as possible and I have tried doing research on this but I never know which companies have paid reviews and which ones are real, and I don’t have a whole lot of money to throw around to be testing out different kinds myself.
Thanks in advance guys!! I’m about to be working and not on the phone for a while so I will reply as soon as possible!
Confusing period
Hi so I basically need some advice/help.
I’ve had two periods so far this month. My first period started 2nd May and ended 7th May which lasted for 6 days which hasn’t happened before, the flow was heavy the first few days. The second period I got it within 10 days of finishing my first period, I got it 18th May and my flow was very light, it was mostly dark brown/red clots and wasn’t runny like blood should be and my period ended yesterday 20th May. This has never happened to me before and was wondering if I should see a doctor now or wait till my next period comes to see if this irregularity will continue? Any answers as to why this is happening thank you?
my gyno won’t listen to me.
Hi all (sorry for the flair if it’s wrong, I didn’t know what to put),
I recently visited the gynecologist for the first time to talk about birth control (ended up going with the Mirena, to which I had put in beginning of this month).
I also mentioned to her that my periods have always been really irregular, and sometimes I would get my “next month’s period” at the end of the last month, leading into the next month (for example, my last period was april 27-may 1, but I already had a period for april at the start of the month, sorry for the tmi), and how I have super bad cramping all throughout the month, whether i’m on my period or not, to the point where I almost faint or throw up. She tells me to try 800mg of ibuprofen instead of the normal 400mg I was taking, so I followed that advice, but when I tell you it does NOT work.
I brought this up to her and she literally looks at me and tells me it’s normal and that since i’m so young (i’m 17 almost 18), that I still have time to let my periods get better, but that just didn’t sit right with me. I tried to argue with her about it and tell her i know my body and I know it’s not normal but she proceeded to tell me that she’s the professional and she knows more than I do😒.
But what’s funny is, she mentioned endometriosis and said it’s possible, but also refuses to look more into it, to which she then talked about letting my periods get better as I get older. Like..why can’t you just look into it? Better to be safe than sorry, no?
Anyway, what do I do? I’m in so much pain every month and will stay that way buntil my IUD starts working but I can’t take this anymore, I want to know what’s wrong with me and what has been wrong with me for the last 6 years☹️.
Inducing period
Has anyone ever successfully induced their period? I am in a wedding in a few weeks and I’m supposed to get my period the day after the wedding, which means I’ll be in full blown PMS the whole week before which is less than ideal.. I’d rather be bleeding the whole week than be bloated/moody/breaking out. I’m seeing lots of remedies on TikTok like parsley tea, vitamin c, papaya and pineapple juice.. has this or anything else ever worked for anyone?! or at the very least, make PMS barely happen this month.
I have a very regular cycle, about 27 days, my last period started on Monday, May 11. I am not sexually active or on any sort of birth control, for context.
Spotting and Late Period
Hi guys! I (21F) thought my period started on CD29 but eventually it was just spotting, now it's CD30 and no real period so far. Also, I haven't had sex in months and yes I got my period normally for the last 6 months, so I'm pretty sure there's no chance of pregnancy.
Has anyone experienced this? Late period is okay, it's the spotting that puzzles me :)
Is a "Period Party" a thing?
My daughter is 12, almost 13, very body positive and I guess these days kids are more open about things. She is asking for a "Period Party" when the big day comes and wants to have red decorations, red food, everyone wears red etc. I love a good party so I don't really have an issue with it, but is this something that others have done? Have your kids been to something like this before? I want to be a supportive dad, just curious if others have done this, if so, any suggestions are welcomed!
