Has anyone healed their gut on a low histamine diet?

I read a lot of people share how eating fermented foods helped them heal their gut, but for those of us who deal with histamine intolerance or MCAS we can't have anything fermented. Has anyone healed their gut with low histamine foods? Thank you in advance!

Has anyone cured/reversed their HI with diet alone?

I started experiencing HI after COVID. For me it started with hives, and then I graduated to nasal congestion/flu like symptoms after an extremely stressful few years. Now depending on what I eat, I either experience flu like symptoms, or I'm violently vomiting (sorry for the TMI. Also that's in addition to other GI symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, difficulty sleeping). My symptoms and my food sensitivity seem to be getting worse and I'm on a strict low histamine diet. I want to wait until I can see a naturopath to add supplements (I already take vit D & C, fish oil, probiotic, magnesium glycinate), but I don't have insurance that would cover that right now so in the meantime I want to try to do this on my own with food alone but I don't know what that looks like. I keep reading things that say a low histamine diet is supposed to be temporary but I haven't seen guidelines on what that is supposed to look like. I've also read that the most important thing to do is heal your gut, but again, I haven't seen guidelines on what "healing your gut" is suppose to look like. What's frustrating about all of this is my symptoms keep me in a constant state of physical exhaustion because I get sick atleast once a week, which means I end up eating like a toddler because I don't have the energy to cook the way I should be cooking. I would love if others shared what has helped them. Also, if I do end up seeing a doctor, what tests should I be asking for? From what I've read in other threads, it sounds like it's really difficult to test for HI. Thank you in advance for everyone who has ever shared their experience on here and to those who respond. I pray everyone experiences healing soon 🙏
