Were they always veiled when appearing in person, or did they speak/observe from behind a screen, curtain, or lattice grille so the men couldn’t see them? Or was it mostly through letters and eunuch intermediaries? I hate to mention MC but did Hurrem ever talk with Ibrahim in person cause she clearly in her letters had some sort of problem with him?
