Any walkable boots with track-boot-level protection?
Hi, I'm looking for mc boots that have the best possible ankle/fibula/tibula/foot protection, WHILE being at least somewhat walkable. I do zero off-road and track, only road and street, but want the best possible lower leg protection, while still being able to walk around whatever sights I travel to.
At the minimum, it has to at least have hinged joints that restrict ankle motion, and it must not be able to fold sideways. But it also shouldn't just be a ski boot with 2mm of rubber sole added...
Some rejected candidates:
Alpinestar Toucan - inadequate protection, fold easily
Supertech R - about as walkable as ski boots. I'd assume Dainese Axial 2 and Daytona Evo series are about the same
SMX Plus V2 - Not sure if much better than above
Sidi Adventure 2 - maybe an option? But since I do zero offroad, those big ADV/MX-style latches look like a liability if sliding on asphalt during a crash
Any other options that I'm missing that have REAL, rigid lower leg/ankle torsion/twist/hyperextension protection while still being passable for an hour's walk when I get to my destination?
