Which heatmap is actually the best and why?

I’ve tested most of the major heatmap tools over the years:

- ATAS
- Bookmap
- Sierra Chart heatmap studies
- Quantower DOM/heatmap tools

And honestly… they all have strengths and weaknesses. From my experience:

ATAS
- very structured footprint + heatmap integration
- good for combining DOM + volume context
- feels more “workflow-oriented” for trading decisions

Bookmap
- clean liquidity visualization
- but sometimes feels “too raw” without deeper execution context

Sierra Chart (studies)
- insanely flexible
- but takes time to configure properly
- not really plug-and-play for most traders (as for me)

Quantower
- decent all-in-one platform
- good UI, but heatmap depth depends heavily on setup / data feed

So I’m curious:

  1. What heatmap do you actually use in your trading?
  2. And what makes it better than the others for you specifically?

Would be interesting to hear real practical reasons, not just preferences.

Setup or laptop?

My Windows setup above, but I prefer my Macbook M5

Am I the only one who builds a full setup but still ends up using a laptop or are there others like this too?
