Baby just turned 10 months old. Has been on a mostly 2 nap schedule for months with 3/3/3 for a while but sometimes longer like 3.5 or last ww as long as 4-5 hours before bed. Naps are 45 min - 1 hr 10 usually (someeetimes 1.5 hours). Wake up is around 8am, bed time is around 8:30pm. We have mostly nursed to sleep, or husband can rock to sleep and have been waking 1-3x a night and typically nursed back to sleep until 1-2 weeks ago when I was sick and decided I need to sleep again. (Naps used to be in the crib, now are usually in the stroller/car seat)
Started ferber and typically start with a 3 min check in then 5 min check ins till sleeping. But it feels like it is taking forever and I'm starting to struggle sticking with it. Night 1 - 45 min till asleep - baby crying, standing, biting the crib, screaming and last 10-15 started settling between cries. Night 2 - 25 mins, night 3-4 was somehow like 12 min each, night 5 back to 25 min, and 20s nights following. One night we were out late with baby and had a 5 hour ww. Nights 5-10 are a blur but around 20 mins each.. one night were out late and accidentally quickly nursed to sleep.. and now I can't stand watching her scream for 20 minutes.. it's too much for 10 days!!!!
Is this normal? What do I do? Tonight was night 12 and I just picked her up and put her to sleep after 15 minutes. I want to sleep train but I am starting to feel like this isn't working. I'm confused if this is still progress or if I'm just wasting effort. Poor baby is screaming, sweating and sticky going to bed every night with this process. HELP
Re- overnight, I have been doing Ferber over night and haven't had to get up for the past week so that's a HUGE success and a win I will take.
Also did ferber for naps but it was 10 min some days and 30 min other days... didn't feel like I could do both at the same time so I'm not doing it now.
