What's up everyone! I'm working on my Common App personal statement and I'm currently a little over the word limit. I'm trying to figure out what parts are actually important to keep and what I can cut without losing the main message of the essay.

For anyone who's already gone through the college application process, what are some things you found helpful when cutting down your personal statement? How did you decide what to keep, remove, or rewrite while still keeping your essay personal and authentic?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
