Complete Newby, $500-$1000 budget for aftermarket header unit & install kits
What are your goals for your car audio system
To be totally honest, I just wanna hook up my old subwoofer and get an aftermarket header unit that let's me upgrade as I learn what I'm doing better. I need wireless Android Auto.
What vehicle?
2015 Dodge Charger r/T. Factory Alpine system.
What is your maximum budget?
I mean, bang for buck is my baseline, but I like going a little premium typically. I don't really wanna spend more than $1k right now, so if I have to wait to do some particular step thats fine, I just need a good starting point yk?
Will you be installing the gear or are you going to a shop?
I wanna learn, so I'm gonna do it myself. I have a buddy who can help me if I need it, but I'm an IT professional, I kinda wanna take a swing at it. Totally green though.
What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear.)
I have the stock Alpine system, whatever it comes with. I also have (i think) a pre-amp subwoofer that I'd like to set up. I had it in my last car, but my dad set it all up for me, so I'm not familiar. I know he hooked it up to the battery directly since the chargers keep it in the trunk. Idk if thats helpful.
What is your country of purchase? Leave any finishing thoughts here.
USA
This is my first foray into custom wiring and everything, so I figured a Crutchfield kit will be ideal, but after some research i decided I'd rather not learn the hard way haha. If there's anyone on YT that you'd recommend or any learning material elsewhere I'll gladly hear it.
