Been trying to make weekend plans and realized I was opening way too many event pages, so here’s the short list I ended up with.
A few things in Oakville that actually looked decent this weekend:
- Oakville Civitan Farmer’s Market If you just want an easy Saturday start, this is probably the safest pick. Good for a casual morning walk, coffee, and picking up something local without overthinking it.
- Kids Scavenger Hunt Good family option if you need something low-stress and not too expensive. This feels like one of the better “get the kids out of the house without making it a whole production” plans.
- Gluten Free Bazaar This one stood out because it’s a bit more specific than the usual weekend market circuit. Worth checking if you’re gluten-free or just want something a little different from the standard Oakville routine.
- Hidden Treasures Tea and Tour Probably the most “Old Oakville” pick on the list. Feels like a good one if you want something slower, local, and a little more charming than just doing another coffee run.
- Family Paint Party Solid indoor backup if the weather turns or you want something easy to plan around. Feels especially useful for parents who want an activity that’s more interactive than just walking around a mall.
- Mother’s Day - Parent and Me Cookie Decorating Pretty obvious pick if you’re planning around Mother’s Day weekend and want something that feels a little more intentional than brunch reservations everywhere.
- Mother’s Day Photo Pop Up This is one of the better free options I saw. If you want something simple, local, and actually seasonal, this is an easy add-on to a walk through Old Oakville.
- Tarweeda If you want something cultural/theatrical instead of the usual market/family-event mix, this is the wildcard pick for the weekend.
Free options I noticed:
- Kids Scavenger Hunt
- Gluten Free Bazaar
- Mother’s Day Photo Pop Up
If I missed anything good around Bronte, Kerr, Glen Abbey, or Old Oakville, add it below.
I also put these into a map/list for myself because it was easier than reopening everything. If anyone wants it, I can drop it in the comments.
