Fighting insurance

We’ve been back and forth with my insurance (Anthem blue cross blue shield) since February trying to get my embolization approved. They denied a peer to peer from the start and denied 2 levels of appeals by my doctor. The final option is requesting an external review which I did last month. Advanced Medical Reviews is doing the external review, has anyone had any luck getting it approved with an external review?

Ligation

Anyone gotten ligation approved after insurance denied embolization? or any success stories from ligation?

The short of it - I have PCS, MTS and EDS. Got a stent for MTS 2 years ago and it worked wonders but PCS is causing all the drama now and after 3 denials, we just can’t get insurance to approve embolization. My hubs was researching and found an older treatment, ligation, and wondered if that could possibly get approval or if it’s even worth it.

Sciatic Pain

Have any of yall experienced sciatic nerve pain in the right leg that improved with embolization?

I have PCS and MTS, probably EDS but not confirmed. Had a stent placed for MTS in 2023 and felt amazing for 18 months. Then pelvic pain came back with fury, specifically around my left ovary. After 3 months of that pain again, overnight it switched to intense back pain then to sciatic pain for about 6 weeks now. IR thinks the PCS could be causing it and wants to embolize but I’m a little skeptical it’s not a separate issue. My chiropractor said the issues are all at L4/L5 and L5/S1 which is directly behind my stent so it seems all related but no one really knows the root issue.

I started having back issues and finally went to the chiro. they said my hips are wonky and my back is curving as a result. Unsurprisingly to me, it’s my left hip thats lower and I’m wondering if my heavy vein is causing the issue. has anyone else dealt with this? The chiropractor thinks getting me aligned will help the PCS pain but I’m skeptical. 😅

I have a PCS diagnosis and waiting for insurance to approve embolization. I also have a stent for MTS and previously had a partial hysterectomy for suspected adenomyosis and endo (none found).
