I was so inspired by u/ResponsibilityNo2097 and the legend Hank Green that I couldn't help but make my own edit with the 12,000+ photos released by NASA.
Because I already know some people will be appalled by the sheer amount of post processing I did here, I want to be clear that I made this to be artistic for my own enjoyment.
Breakdown:
- Downloaded the sequence of ~66 photos
- Matched color temp and tint of each image in Adobe Lightroom, as well as some contrast adjustments.
- Brought the edited photos into DaVinci Resolve where I tediously aligned each photo individually using transform controls and the "difference" blending mode.
- Ran some pretty serious denoising on the video file I created in DaVinci (hence the artifacts and flickering stars.)
- Cut the parts I liked into a little string-out and did some film emulation.
Hope some of you think it's cool like I do!

After many over the top and convoluted setups I decided simpler the better
