Need vacuum advice!

Okay vacuum people, help 😅

Our 15-year-old Dyson upright finally broke (the hose split) and just needs replaceming and now I’ve fallen into a complete vacuum research spiral.

We have a 2000 sq ft one story house, mostly hardwood floors with a few area rugs, and a LOT of long hair shedding.

At first I thought I wanted a cordless stick vacuum that all the influencers advertise, but the more I think about charging/storage/battery life, the more I think I probably want to stay with corded for simplicity and longevity.

I don’t need some super fancy luxury vacuum. I just want something that has good suction, works on both hardwood and rugs, handles hair fairly good, and lasts more than 2 years.

Right now I keep bouncing between the Dyson Ball Animal and the Shark Navigator at Costco. I’m used to my old Dyson, so if the newer ones feel similar I don’t mind that. I also want attachments for couches/baseboards/corners and hard-to-reach places.

Would you go Dyson again? Shark? Something else entirely?
