I’m 17, turning 18 in 3 weeks. Have about $1500 saved. $1500 was supposed to be for a down payment, but I’m struggling to find someone to either co sign or put it in their name. Dad is possible, but he lives across the country, and he doesn’t respond typically within 2 weeks. He also got my mom’s car repoed, because he said he was making the payments with the money he sent her, even though he wasn’t. Mom and stepdad will put it in their name but won’t help at all, even though they are choosing the car, and they are wanting me to get a 2025 nisaan ultima , which is 21k. I can’t afford this payment, as well as insurance, school, and housing. The only thing I’ve thought of is getting a pos car in my name and just dealing with the extra interest, but making extra payments so i take off the principle as well. Was supposed to have about $1200 more than I have now, but family stuff happened so I lost that. Let me know if y’all have any advice.
