I’m pretty new at this so I could easily be missing some lore here. Why, when I look at detachable carry handles, are Cerro Forge carry handles so much more? I can barely find them and they are usually asking $90-&140. Am I missing something, or are people just listing them higher because there seems to be less available? Tyia
Hey y’all, my first post. If I don’t meet group rules with this post or if it belongs more in r/ARcloneish, I apologize and can delete the post. With that out of the way, I’m looking for inspiration for a build I’m wanting to do. I’m not looking to super accurate clone right now. Just a fun pre2010ish build with inspiration from used rifles. If there are other sites that you use to find inspiration please link. I’m willing to do the looking, just new to this. Photos above are what got me started with credit to Modern Tactical Shooting YT for the last 4 photos.
Ideas on build:
-More non-standard handguards (I have seen the Troy/Larue/DD Omega rails and dig them, just looking at options)
-Accessories other than broom handle/ergo parts
-very into chopped/hand modifications
-willing to merge inspiration rifles into one rifle
-currently have (from them falling out of the sky in service) Surefire 951, vtac padded sling with metal sliders, car15 stock, A.R.M.S #19(with no Acog😢). Rifle wise I have an sbr’d 10.5”(gunsmith wouldn’t do 10.3 because he was worried about gas journal and there aren’t many gunsmiths in my area)LE6920 that currently has a f marked FSP. Would be willing to go free float/low pro for fun handguards.

-Also wanted to say I’m not tied to using the parts I have. So if I listed having anything (outside the rifle), I’m not against changing them.
-Also open to general recommendations for finding parts, any parts research sites, or what to be aware of with loose cloning. I’ve found WetWorx, thoroughbred, modarmory, tacswap, and infinitearmory.
