Hi everyone, just curious about this.

Does the actual Civil Service Exam (CSE) score/rating have any impact when applying for government positions, or is it just important to pass the exam and obtain eligibility?

For example, if one applicant got a higher rating than another, does that give any advantage during hiring, promotions, or ranking of applicants? Or do agencies focus more on experience, education, training, and interviews instead?

Would appreciate insights from anyone working in government HR or those who have gone through the application process. Thanks!
