Anime stippling

Anime stippling

I tried adding tridimensionality to this tattoo with the shadows and it looks anatomically wrong but ignore that and let's focus on the technique, how can I get a consistent gray with stippling? I was experimenting here but any tips or general help will do nicely. Should I use water with the ink, increase voltage, lower hand speed, etc? Thanks! The shade here was done with a 1205RL at multiple V, ranging from 4.0 to 6.0

Additional question, can I "paint lines"? As in, stippling them until they look bold/dark enough, I find that easier to make different sized lines to imitate manga pen panels. Thanks!!

Help shading, please

Hi, I've been trying to learn to tattoo for a couple of months and the shading I make are a mess. I like and try to do stipple / whip shading with 1203 (first pic) and 1205 Round Liners(second pic) but it looks too rough, messy and unclean. I've tried to use the same technique and machine settings but with a 1209 RS needle, which looks a bit more clean but I have no clue of what I'm doing tbh, and there are almost none round shader tutorials to actually shade on YT, everyone uses a RM, which I don't have. Please, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
