Hi everyone 👋

I’m currently rebuilding a casual football community in North London called Fair Play. A couple of years ago I used to organise friendly 7/8-a-side matches with good people, good vibes and respectful football, and I’ve recently decided to start it up again.

At the moment I’m trying to grow the group naturally and bring together players who enjoy regular football sessions around Islington and surrounding areas. Games are usually played on quality 3G Astro pitches such as Barnard Park, Whittington Park, Highbury Fields, Tufnell Park and Rosemary Gardens.

I’ve already created a WhatsApp group for game updates, upcoming matches and player availability, but I wanted to ask if anyone has advice on the best ways to grow a local football community nowadays.

What platforms have worked best for you?
Facebook groups? Reddit? TikTok? Footy Addicts?

Also interested in hearing how organisers find reliable regular players and keep games consistent each week.

Any ideas, tips or support would genuinely be appreciated 🙌
