How can i convince my dad to let me get a Miata

Edit: i see a lot of people saying not to because it’s unpractical needs work and unsafe is there any cars recommended that have pop up lights? I wanna flip them up at people and just to look at in general I’m young so I’m aware that I’m immature and want a “cool car” but i still can’t help it lol i want a cool car

Im 18 and I want to sell my Lexus 2009 es350 and buy a Miata 1990-1997 (because i want the popup headlights and a manual) my Lexus books low but listing of my exact car i see on Facebook are around 8k and a Miata everyone seems to say they got theirs for 3-5k i would have money left over for repairs and to pay off the new tires i got there’s 0 downsides besides it being an old car. My dad is against the idea and wants to wait until he can find a Miata at an auction (he works at a car dealership) but how rare are they to find? He said the same about a civic and it’s been months which he never got one. I would rather try to sell my car if i can’t i can’t i don’t see any downsides of me trying to he seems to think he has to spend any money at all he gets mad easily over dumb stuff so a mature talk is barely an option how can i convince him and am i maybe in the wrong?
