Can't stop thinking about earlier road rage and can't let it go
Today, some unexpected construction merged one lane into mine. I had let one car in front of me, then noticed another car speeding in to try and get in behind that one, so I sped up to block them. They didn't back down until we were both in the lane side by side, at which point I just let them in ahead of me. They drove slowly in front of me for about ten seconds before exiting the road.
I know I shouldn't have sped up in the first place and I really regret it. But I'm not sure how to let it go. Afterwards, still angry from the first confrontation, I was much more annoyed with bad drivers I encountered and drove aggressively.
How do I let this go? I'm ashamed of what I did.
