I had this pierced around 5 months ago, healing was fine until a spot grew next to it maybe 2 months ago. It was previously downsized with different jewellery before issues started; current is titanium internally threaded labret, changed from threadless.

My original jewellery was more of a star shape and ended up irritating the spot, causing it to bleed and form a little bump. I tried to change it to the current ball, but struggled to remove it and had to put the original bar in when I finally did due to swelling. I completely messed up putting the bar in as I think it caught on the spot and broke the skin, resulting in this huge bump growing over the last month.

I have spoken to my piercer who doesn't think that I should get the bar downsized again yet, but I'm worried that the movement is making it worse. I am cleaning it with saline 2x a day and trying not to accidentally touch it when washing face/ blowing nose etc. I have done a few soaks too but have heard mixed things about them. I really want to keep the piercing and am unsure about downsizing again as I don't want to irritate the bump, but the longer bar isn't great either, so would appreciate advice! Thanks
