I’ve been working on a really simple 1-minute daily check-in idea, but before going too far with it I wanted to understand why people drop these habits in the first place.
So I asked in another subreddit and got way more responses than I expected.
A few things kept coming up over and over:
A lot of people said it starts feeling like homework after a few days. Others said reflection by itself doesn’t really do anything unless something comes out of it. One person even tried what I built and said it felt more like reflection than accountability.
That part stuck with me.
Now I’m kind of stuck trying to figure out what actually makes something like this stick. Is it about showing patterns over time? Or does it need some kind of consequence or push toward action?
Curious how you’d think about this from a retention or product perspective.
