Writing Title: Samsung S90F (QD-OLED) vs LG G5 - Which would you keep?
I'm trying to decide which TV to keep and could use some opinions from people who've owned or compared both.
I currently have both in the 55" size:
Samsung S90F (QD-OLED panel) – paid $1,200 CAD
LG G5 – paid $1,700 CAD
My usage is mainly:
YouTube
Prime Video
PS5 gaming
Gaming PC (will be connected as well)
I don't really watch cable.
So far, I've actually preferred the picture on the S90F for a lot of the content I watch. Prime Video seems to look better to my eyes, and colors really pop.
One thing I've noticed on the G5 is that blacks sometimes look a little odd—not sure how to describe it, but they can look slightly jittery or noisy in darker scenes. I've also noticed something similar occasionally while watching YouTube. I'm not sure if it's a processing or motion setting, or if I'm just imagining it.
Price-wise, the S90F cost me $1,200 CAD while the G5 was $1,700 CAD, so there's about a $500 CAD difference.
For my usage, is the G5 actually worth the extra $500, or would you keep the S90F and save the money? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's compared these two.
