for context, I'm born in the early 2000s, and it's fun to note that something my older friends are talking about via "oh I didn't know they did that 30 years ago" when they're talking about something from the 90s, and following it up with "well it was before my time" etc etc

the best American version of this was "I was born after 9/11" so what's something iconic that happened in Australia in the early 2000s that I can use to (lovingly) annoy my friends?
